We lived in Vadena in the province of Bolzano.
In 2009 we decided to build CASARIGA, in 2014 we came to live there and at the end of the year we opened the farm.
Yep: we are a farm, because around CASARIGA there is our farm of about 10 hectares where we produce apples, raspberries, grapes and blueberries.
Why CASARIGA?
First of all it must be said that it is a life project; we looked for a place to raise our children away from the factories and the streets. We asked nature to let us in; we must respect those who host us, walk on tiptoe and make sure that our presence is as little as possible.
The main idea of our project is to have nature all around without giving up the comfort of a modern home.
For us it was essential to hide the boundary between inside and outside as much as possible.
We therefore designed and built rooms with a completely glass wall. When the curtains open in the morning, you have the feeling of being outside. It's a wonderful feeling that makes me say: “Hello World, how are you?”.
Our family lives every day in this strange house and we often see wild animals passing by.
Living here we found that it is very nice to live in a small community.
The fact of living in a marginal place, outside the metropolitan and industrial lines has proved to be a very important value.
